Winter or summer tuning??

Mon Jun 29, 2009 9:42 pm by jmc

Here's one for you. I had my G60 mapped at Stealth on about the coldest day of the year last winter. I also ran it on the rollers at SRR a couple of days later (when all was still very cold). When I came to run it on the SRR rollers a few weeks ago (after changing my exhaust) it was running very rich. To me this wasn't a huge surprise, but am I ...

Twin Charging.....super and turbo....the 'Superbocharged'

Wed Jun 17, 2009 5:35 pm by mrbeige

Ok, so we've talked a little about twin turbo setups, now, I think we need to discuss supercharger and turbo setups! The reason I ask, is because a few people have said that twin turboing a 16v wont give me what I want, and that's plenty of torque low down, and I still fancy a challenge Laughing

So, for example, take a 2.0l 16v engine, ...

New car (and I'm a sucker for punishment and i can't help myself!)

Wed Jun 17, 2009 10:24 pm by pete_griff

i said that i wouldn't modify my new car (Evo 6) as it's my daily and i would leave it standard!

that hasn't lasted very long... (at all!)

i've slapped an apexi turbo timer on it, not only for my convenience, but also as it tells me battery voltage, lambda voltage and AF ratio (only approximate obviously as it's narrow...

Twin turbo.....which ones???

Tue Oct 21, 2008 1:47 pm by mrbeige

Would there be any benefit to running two turbos on a 16v motor? Looking at Rich's RX7 build just got me thinking. Could you run a small turbo then a big turbo (compound), or indeed one turbo per 2 cylinders?

so as not to confine this to 16vs, I've seen twin turbo setups on 24v VRs, so what would be the advantages/disadvantages on th...

E85 Bioethanol

Mon Jun 01, 2009 1:02 pm by kevhaywire

As I was near a Morrisons over the weekend, I thought I'd stick a gallon of E85 in (to 10 gallons of V Power already in the tank) to see what happened.

It was a bit irritating filling up as the E85 pump at Ipswich is horrendously slow for some reason, but anyway, EGTs fell 50 degrees and I was able to add 4 degrees timing on boost wi...

Right guys,
What's your views on running in a turbo engine?,how many miles/km's nessesary?.
What turbo boost?(if any).
I've done 780kms so far(0.5Bar turbo press..) but i'm getting really impatient and want to crank the boost to 1.8+Bar,forged 7.7/1 comp. pistons,8 injectors with matching software,LSD,T4 roller bearing turbo et...

20v management

Fri May 08, 2009 11:39 pm by junkie

Thinking of going factory management on the old 20v set up i want, did they get more sophisticated as time went on, can you by pass the immobiliser on them all or do they get that much more complicated and need the keys, clocks etc. Are there any capable enough to control safely at high levels of power.
