Re: Turbo Support
Been hard at work over last weekend and finally finished the wastegate take offs. So manifold finished now other than the 4 EGT probes and a surface grind on the flange to eliminate the distortion we got when welding . Oh and a wideband probe in the downpipe.

Intake manifold and TB finally arrived aswell so temporarily mocked up to see how it gels.

All that's left now is to put the finishing touch on 3 exh ports, seat cuts, head skim and deck cooling. Shim the cam up, tq the head down and she can go in the car permanent somewhere in April
My mate who own's it has got a spare block and head, so he took it home last weekend to start mocking up boost runs and water runs in the car. Believe it or not it all cleared the bonnet by 3mm, so once the back of the bonnet is jacked up there should be no clearance issues
Anyway that's the last of the tasters till the car comes out over the summer.

Re: Turbo Support
Dang, can't see the pics as I'm at work!! Will look later....
4 EGT probes.... one in each runner I take it? Good idea!
Got another exhaust related question, is it better to fit the flex bellow in the vertical pipe, or the horizontal underneath? Or does it not make much difference?

Re: Turbo Support
omg, upgradeZ!! Thanks, I like it
if by flex you mean the woven criss-cross section, I would think it would make sense to put it in the downpipe, i.e. as close to the engine as possible so that when the engine moves the majority of the exhaust stays in the same place.
If you put it underneath you might get a nasty moment building up, and I'm guessing but the centre section might start knocking on the floorpan?

Re: Turbo Support
Yeah that's what I was thinking Mr Panda, put the flex bellow as close to the manifold as possible..... but that's proving virtually impossible in my application. Might be able to fit it above the steering rack tho...
