This has really been doing my head in for the last few days!

I have a 6-speed PD130 Passat AVF engine code with a 01E gearbox, that uses a pretty 'rare' 240mm clutch + dual-mass flywheel. I'm looking at getting a remap done, but the flywheel has developed a slight rattle, so I'm looking to change / upgrade to a single mass flywheel kit.

The prob is that there are plenty of single-mass kits available for the lower powered TDi's with the 228mm CL + FW. But nothing specific for the AVF engine.

I've seen a single-mass flywheel conversion + clutch for a MK4 Golf GT TDi PD150 (ARL engine code afaik) with a 02M gearbox (afaik). This uses the 240mm clutch and the part numbers are nearly identical to the p/n's for my AVF engine:

Clutch: 038141032L clutch plate / F >> 3B-1-600 000* 240MM / AVF
038141032G clutch plate 240MM / ARL,ASZ

Flywheel: 038105266AC flywheel / F 3B-2-000 001>> / AVF
038105266AG flywheel 240MM / manual- gearbox; ASZ,ARL

I know the release bearings for the clutch aren't compatible between the 01E and 02m.....but the clutches are both 240mm with 23 splines....the flywheel have both got the same 6-bolt pattern.

Anyone know for definite if it's possible to fit the PD150 kit to the PD130?!

Laughing I went for an uprated Sachs clutch and a standard Sachs DMF in the end. Nobody seemed to have the answer to my SMF question, and I started to hear quite a few negative points about them the further I looked!
