Lambda location
Wideband sensor mounting in a turbo engine:-
1) In the manifold
2) Just after the turbo
3) 2 feet down the downipe
4) Straight boss or 45 deg boss
Discuss
My own thoughts are 1) Yep, good idea....can double up as an EGT probe too (as per MK5 GTI, R32 etc)
2) also a good place. The heat makes midrange and low rpm more accurate / responsive.
3) Gases cool down too much, sluggish response for part throttle.
4) I know 45 deg were used on narrowband a lot to avoide nozzle clogging, but is there an advantage with wideband too?

Re: Lambda location
Wideband probe needs mounting 16" back from the turbo exhaust housing pointing as much as possible perfectly downwards. This would usually mean a 45 degree on an upright or a straight boss if on a level part of the downpipe.
This will give you the most acurate reading and prevent moisture build up in the tip of the probe which damages them.

Re: Lambda location
Yeah I'm going to put a 45 degree fitting on the vertical part of the downpipe as he described.
