Re: G60 Live map process
Special bit of kit is required that emulates the eprom whilst also allowing the mapper to change data live. I think these people make the kit but the website is a nightmare to figure stuff out with.

Gwerks are the people to speak to on that front as they map all their custom setups life.

Re: G60 Live map process
They disconnect the narrow band lambda if you are using that, and screw in the wideband lambda probe. They replace your ecu with theirs which is connected to a PC. Then basically you are asked to drive around in different gears and rev ranges to build up what you fueling looks like. Tweaks are made to the map, and the effects on the fuelling monitored. My experience is that while it is useful, it pays to go to a rolling road and get it done rather than on the road, as it is very difficult to 'feel' accurately when a change is for the better.

Re: G60 Live map process
Depends whether you would trust all probes to behave equally. As I understand it with wideband lambda probes they can drift over time. The only problem would come if yours gave a slightly different output to what Steves is doing - then the fuelling reading would be off as would he map.
