Any more progress? Are you taking plenty of pics of your engine build?

Oh, and did you get the rev counter OK?

Yes thanks, the 8k tach is sat on my desk,so I can daydream about taking rpm's way past 6k Cool .

On the standard g60 cat the probe is angled in that way so..

I have taken a few but I figured most folk on here have seen a hundred stripped engines so I was waiting till I had something interesting to post. Smile

I use to take my 8v over 6k all the time.
6.2-6.3k.
The idle bleed screw flew out once when doing it tho. Rolling Eyes

If I can't go to 7k every now and then whats the point in going 16v? Very Happy

I'm sure i'll keep the AA busy.

Get some POR15 engine enamel dude. The kits are only about £40, and come with degreaser/etch primer/brushes/masks/thinners/paint and some rubber gloves lol! They do all sorts of colours too Wink

Rob doesn't wash his car often! Even for shows, he ain't gonna be painting his block! Very Happy I can assure you of that. I just used a spray tin of hammerite gloss black I had knocking around the garage! It had plenty of time to harden before fitting the engine in the car.

I don't wash my car that often either, but then I have a bare block that's been sat in my garage for nearly 2 years now, but it is painted lol. I'm just suggesting it might be an idea whilst the engine is out?

Thats another £40 I could really use elsewhere.
I'll think about it. Smile
I have got most of the grime off the block..
I've not done a project this size b4.It would be nice to paint the block but of all the things I am trying to juggle at the momment this seems less important.
I'm always open to suggestions tho chaps so I will bear it in mind. Cool

I will use the ABF 1, my alt from vr has 7 rib pulley and i think thats why its out of aline, it jumps onto the extra rib and then shreds. I have an ABF alt now so will use that if thats 6 rib?

why don't you just keep the same alternator and change the pulley flusted? surely that would be a lot cheaper.

DT, I know you have a garage now so there's no reason not to post up progress pics! Even just a bolt. That'd keep me happy Very Happy
