Perfromance Box - is it any good?
Seen this advertised and it looks to have pretty good reviews.

Given the amount of tweaking I like to do, I was wondering, anyone have any experience with it?

Hmm... I like that.
Be warned you will find yourself sneaking out late at night looking for nice deserted stretches of road to play on.
I had a g-tech(google it).
That looks even better though.

It is good, yes. Uses the same GPS as the Racelogic VBox, which is an industry standard performance meter

Cool, looks like a good gadget to have then. Having said that, the G-tech Pro SS has what I need (power and torque) at about half the price, so may look into that as well. I'm not expecting it to replace using a rolling road, but might allow me to make relative comparisons (if I play with advance for example).
EDIT - just checked and Pro SS has no computer connectivity - looks like it's back to the Performance Box then

Your looking at £200 for the gtech if you want that.
Otherwise they are about £150.
How much for the Performance box?

shame I sold mine you could of seen what you thought first.jmc wrote:Oooh more than that - they are about £320...
Chris used it a bit too.
The one thing I didn't like about the gtech was the mounting system.
It was a bit pooh and it is important to get it mounted nice and straight and still to make the thing as accurate and consistent as possible.
When I had it I really wished that I had bought the computer ready one aswell.

Hmmm, bah humbug. Been reading through the Performance box manual and it looks as though the power mode only gives peak power not a power graph (their power mode icon is a bit misleading if that is the case as it shows a nice graph). Will give them a bell tomorrow to clarify. If that is the case then it becomes a lot less fun...
