Which engine is best?

Post by junkie on Mon Aug 31, 2009 12:14 am

Whilst im planning what car to build i keep thinking about rear wheel drive and all sorts of different engines. So do you think 20v turbo as people say its the new cossie engine or its best to stick to the original classic engine thats a cossie engine of course. Any other suggestions welcomed.

Ive always liked the idea of a V8 powerd car on set of quad carbs! the noise and instant throttle response would be porn!

It depends entirely on what car you're going to build. You certainly wouldn't put a 20VT into an AC Cobra for instance! Why not put Audi's latest 4.2 V8 into something? Twin turboed - they are insane - as seen in the Gumpert Apollo. It's one of the lightest and most compact V8s around aswell, which is always a bonus.
